Walker County Historical Commission, Sam Houston Memorial Museum, City of Huntsville Tourism, Huntsville Downtown Business Alliance and Sam Houston State University invite you to become a Baptized Texan, This annual event begins with a march from SHSU to Sam Houston’s grave. A graveside ceremony takes place and the Baptized a Texan ceremony. A luncheon follows and festivities around the downtown square begin.
